Storage Info

Because my phone (Sony Xperia V) have support for USB-OTG but do not have a quick way to unmount an attached USB device, I made this application. Maybe the application name is not the best one, I admit that.

<b>Remember, this was suppose to be used on Sony Xperia V phones with Android 4.2, others are not supported, because I do not have other devices. So use it carefully and be aware about possible issues.</b>

This application will create a shortcut to access the Storage Settings from the Notification bar when an USB mass storage is connected to an Android device which support USB-OTG.

Normally the Storage Settings should be accessible from device Settings menu.

<b>Starting with the version 2.0 is possible to access a quick mounting and unmounting dialog from the Notification bar.</b>

If this new feature is crashing, please unplug any USB device attached and uncheck the "<u>Enable quick storage access.</u>".

<b>This application will not</b> add to your device host support, read device manual to see if the device support USB-OTG. In some cases, the USB-OTG could be enabled by using a custom ROM.

<b>This application will not</b> mount or unmount an USB storage device, that's Storage Settings for.

<i>Unfortunately I do not have others phones to test this application, so sorry for any inconvenience. Also shome phones do not need this application.</i>

<b>Tips:</b>

- If the shortcut remain on the notification bar, use the "Toggle notification" from the application to close it.

- <i>After each update please unplug any USB storage attached and open the application, also press the "Toggle notification" to enable and then to disable the notification shortcut. In that way you will have a cleanup settings.</i>

- If you enable quick storage access and receive <b>"Requires MOUNT_UNMOUNT_FILESYSTEMS permission"</b>, then <u>the only solution is to convert this application into a system application</u>. Unfortunately this could be done <u>only on rooted devices</u> with others applications like "/system/app mover" or "Link2SD" or "Titanium Backup" (paid version).

<b>Please update the application, use the latest version, 2.2.</b> The uploaded screen captures are made for version 2.2.

<b>This application will not always</b> mount back an unmounted USB storage device, that's because sometime the Android system is not able to process that request. I made the implementation but is not always successfully.

Starting with the version 3.0 is possible to select an application, preferable a file manager, to be launched when a storage is mounted.
